Remember last week’s challenge? lol I had multiple winners but the first one, Ida got the wings😊
Ingredients
Wings
Garam masala
Mixed spice
Garlic ginger paste
Dhana jeera
Bbq sauce
Honey
Flour
Paprika
Method
In a bowl; place the wings, add the ginger garlic paste and all spices you’ll use, let this marinate for 30-45 mins.
Marinate this for 30-45 mins
In a different bowl; add the flour, mixed spice, garam masala and dhana jeera. Properly mix them.
Spices plus flour
After 45 mins, coat the wings with the flour-spice mixture
As you coat the wings, ensure the oil is heating.
Place wings in oil, however, ensure you dust off excess flour. Fry the wings for 10-12mins
Recoat wings in flour after 2 mins incase the coat is “washed off” by the oil
Repeat this process till all wings are fried.
Fried wings
Incase you don’t want your wings to have BBQ, you can eat them at this point, we actually ate some😂😂 kutaste tu🤣🤣
Sauce recipe
In a pan, add BBQ sauce and honey. Let them simmer for about 5 mins then start adding the wings.
The wings should be properly coated and left to absorb the sauce for about 3mins.
Wings are ready, I coated them in bits btw to ensure they all absorb the sauce well.
Round 1,we almost ate them all ati ni tasting😂😂
Sticky BBQ wings😋😋
See my niece licking the sauce😂
Guest review

Her wings😋Her review
Start making your orders lol😂😂 fr though😅👀
That’s it for this week loves❤️
Thank you for the support this far❤️❤️ I was told to do more ‘giveaways’, I’m trynna find a system, probably once a month? I’ll let y’all know😊
Do y’all like lentils? I only know like 3 outta 10 people who do haha. Some of the reasons being it’s an awkward cereal with a “kastrange taste” however, y’all can make lentils amazing using different recipes.
This is one of them; using coconut milk, I’ll share another one soon.
I loooove lentils; anyone who knows me well can attest to this. I find them extremely easy to cook and they go well with almost everything; ugali, rice, chapo even mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
*Preboiled lentils
*Coconut milk
*Tomatoes
*Onions
*Capsicum
*Dhania
*Preferred spices
Method
Fry onions in a cooking pot until they’re translucent. Add your tomatoes, let them cook to your liking(I prefer mine well cooked to a paste)
I added the spices when adding the tomatoes, I used curry powder, garam masala and dhana jeera.
Add some salt as well.
After the tomatoes are cooked, you can add your carrots. I didn’t.
I added the preboiled lentils and some water and let them cook for a few minutes.
Trust the process guys😅
I added the coconut milk and capsicum then let it simmer for some minutes.
The food is ready😋
Added dhania right before serving.
After adding dhania Coconut milk lentils curry😋😋
We had them with tumeric fried rice
This was the best lentils meal I’ve ever had tbh, I wonder why I didn’t try this before 🤔
‘Dine with me’ guest
I really feel like I shouldn’t add a guest this week coz we had this for lunch at home😂 the fam really really loved the meal though.
So, something special for this week lol
The first person to answer this question either via IG DM or what’sapp gets BBQ wings delivered to them next week on Monday.
This super cute restaurant is located in Uchumi House along Aga Khan walk
The ambience is amazing, the lights and color coordination is to die for. Once you set foot into the restaurant you are welcomed by the sweet food aroma and smiling waiters ready to serve you.
The lights and color coordination
Food
I ordered teriyaki chicken wings, they are served with fries and coleslaw.
Teriyaki chicken wings accompanied by fries and coleslaw
The chicken is tender, the teriyaki flavor is properly infused and can be tasted in every bite. The fries are finely sliced and well seasoned. The coleslaw was such a delightful addition to the meal.
The meal was so filling you guys👌👌 I also had a salted caramel milkshake that was the perfect drink to go with the food. Yes I know it’s a cold season, but anytime is milkshake time😊🤭🤭
Salted caramel milkshake
This meal was 480kshs, value for money if you ask me. The milk shake was 450kshs
My date had chicken curry accompanied by rice.
Chicken curry accompanied by rice.
The curry was amazing😋😋 He doesn’t like capsicum and the chef was kind enough to exclude them when making his meal. This is exemplar customer service 👏👏👏
The chicken curry was full of flavor with proper spice coordination. Y’all know I appreciate spices that are well merged.
This meal was 550kshs. He had it with a peppermint mocha that was 300kshs.
The services were so good and their prices are quite affordable. I’d rate the services plus meal a generous 10 outta 10 haha.
I’m totally recommending the restaurant, y’all should definitely try it.
Juzi I was wished a happy one month birthday for my blog😊 Asanteni sana🥰
It’s been a month guys!! Thank you so so much for the support thus far❤️
Yesterday I made meatball curry for my sister; it’s one of her best meals and it was the perfect meal to celebrate her son’s 7 months birthday.
Here’s the easy recipe.
Ingredients
*Meatballs( y’all can easily make your own meatballs using minced meat, I’ll show you how on my IG soon, I bought these ones though, I didn’t have time to make them from scratch haha)
*Tomatoes/tomato paste
*Onions
*Spices.
*Tumeric
*Salt
Method
~ In a pan or sufuria, cook your onions to your liking, then add your garlic ginger paste
Onions plus garlicginger paste
~ Add your tomatoes or tomato paste. If you’re using tomatoes, let them cook till they are paste-y
~ Add the spices
After adding the spices, the cooked tomatoes should look like this
~ Add the meatballs and let them cook for 10 minutes
Before adding coconut cream
~Add coconut cream and let them simmer for a few minutes
Your meatball curry in coconut cream is ready
We had this delicious meal with pasta. You can also use rice or mashed potatoes as an accompaniment.
Try this extremely easy recipe and tell me how it turns out.
Dine with me guest
As I mentioned, my sister Eve was my guest and this was her review.
She said she liked the kafirifiri kwa mbali-ness of the food😂
So, I was challenged to make 2 meals; a meal I consider the easiest to make and one that I consider extremely difficult. Tbh I’m still having a tough time deciding which meal I find most difficult, once I find out I’ll definitely let y’all know.
Which meals do y’all consider easy?
Personally a bowl of noodles is the easiest meal for me plus I get to add whatever I like.
Today I’ll show y’all how to make noodles in 3 ways that I consider easy especially because these are ingredients available at home. (That’s a tentative statement though)
Fried noodles
Ingredients
*Noodles
*Tomatoes
*Onions
*Capsicum
*Soy sauce
Method
*Put noodles in a bowl, add hot water and cover the bowl; let them cook for several minutes.
*In a cooking pot, cook your veggies.( I used onions, tomatoes, chilli and capsicum) *Add your spices. (I used garam masala and dhana jeera)
*Once they’re cooked, add your noodles and soy sauce.
*Use your preferred garnish. I used capsicum.
Your bowl of noodles is ready, enjooooyyy!!! 😋
Fried noodles
Bacon noodles
Use the same method as fried noodles(I did not use soy sauce in this meal) then add bacon as a garnish or you could use more bacon if you want to use bacon as an accompaniment. Just mix the bacon slices or strips in the noodles.
Bacon used as a garnish, plus capsicum.
Smokies/sausages/chipolatas noodles
I used smokies in this meal.
Use the fried noodles recipe in this meal as well. However instead of soysauce I used tumeric.
In a different pan, fry your sliced smokies.
Once the smokies are ready, add the noodles to the same pan, let them cook for a few minutes then serve.
Started eating before taking the photos😂
Dine with me guest
I had no specific guest this week coz each meal was eaten by different people.
There’s also chickennoodles that I personally consider easy to make but I was informed it’s not so easy especially coz not everyone has chicken just chilling in their fridge. I’ll make it as a meal on it’s own and share the recipe but anyone who needs the recipe can just reach out. 😊
That’s it for this week loves.
Thank you so much for trying my recipes and y’all who ask for recipes that I haven’t posted yet, asanteni sana for trusting me with any meal.
Fried beef accompanied by vegetable fried rice and stir fry potatoes
Heeeey loves!! Trust you’ve all been well since the last time we met, well interracted😊
Fried beef
Ingredients
*Beef
* Onions
*Tomatoes
*Capsicum
*Spices use your preferred spices. ( I used garam masala, dhana jeera, curry powder and soy sauce )
Notice I didn’t use salt coz I used soy sauce
I preboiled my meat. ( Preboiling meat doesn’t reduce the flavor, just use the stock when frying, don’t use kawaida water, this ensures the beef maintains its natural flavor)
Preboiling also ensures your meat will be soft and won’t need to be fried for too long.
Method
Add onions and oil in a pot, cook till they’re golden brown, add tomatoes and your preferred spices. Let the tomatoes cook till they crush or they’re soft enough to be crushed using your cooking spoon. ( Cook tomatoes to your liking) I just dont like seeing mine in my meal.
How it looked after the tomatoes cooked.
Add the preboiled beef and let it cook for a few minutes.
Add soy sauce and capsicum when the meat is well cooked. Let them cook for 2 minutes or so. Beef is ready to be served.
Beef is ready😋
Vegetable fried rice
Ingredients
*Rice(preboil the rice)
*Peas(preboil the peas as well)
*Cubed carrots
*Onions
* Oil
*Tumeric
Method
After preboiling the rice and peas, I cooked the veggies.
Cook your onions till they are translucent , they should look like this.
Properly cooked but not brown.
Add the carrots, peas and preferred spices. I used curry powder, dhana jeera and tumeric. Oh plus some salt. Let them cook for a few minutes.(Maintain the crunch in your carrots)
Slightly cooked veggies.
Add your rice bit by bit as you fluff it. Once you’ve added all the rice let it cook for just a few minutes to absorb the flavor. Rice is ready to be served.
Vegetable fried rice😋
Stir fry potatoes
Anyone who’s been to my place recently has had a fair share of waru meals😂 Effects of getting warus from ushago haha. On the bright side, there’s so much you can do to warus to make them either a meal on its own or as an accompaniment like I did this time.
We can’t be friends if you don’t like warus lol😂😂
Ingredients
* Potatoes
* Onions
* Capsicum(have y’all noticed my love for capsicum by now? No? Okay 😂😂
* Soy sauce
* Garam masala
Method
Peel and chop your potatoes. (You can leave the peels on if that’s how you prefer your potatoes)
Boil potatoes but don’t overboil them because they will break when being fried.
In a pan, fry onions and let them brown. When chopping the onions, use the semi-circle shape. Once the onions are properly cooked, add the preboiled potatoes, sprinkle some garam masala then add soy sauce.
After adding soy sauce
Let them cook as you carefully turn them to absorb the flavor. Add your capsicum and cook them for a few minutes. Potatoes are ready to be served. ( When turning, be careful to avoid breaking them)
Stir fried potatoes 😋
Plated meal😍😋
PS; when I say “let it cook for a few minutes” , I mean less than 2 minutes.
Guest review
My guest this week waaaaasss, (drumrolls) my sister♥️ Her review….
Aaawww nice review, it was such a pleasure cooking for you and your entire family❤️❤️
That’s it for this week loves❤️ Enjoy the read and try the recipes😊
I sincerely appreciate y’all who interact with me, try my recipes, share my posts, ask for recipes and read my posts😊 Asanteni sana❤️
Y’all know my love for chicken haha. My first post definitely had to be chicken related.
How to make honey soy chicken!
Recipe!!
Ingredients
*Chicken( I used the 1kg QMP assorted chicken pack)
*Honey( 2 table spoons)
*Soy sauce( 2 bottle tops of dark soy sauce) however, when using light soy sauce you can use more.
* Rosemary( I really love rosemary aki, especially coz I get them from mum’s kitchen garden💃🤣)
*Chicken masala
*Mixed spice
*Garlic ginger paste
*Spring onions
*Salt
*Chilli flakes
(Did y’all know you can easily make chilli flakes at home instead of buying? That’s what I do. If anyone is interested, hit me up for instructions) I’ll attach my socials apo chini
Side note; I usually eyeball my spices so sina specific measurements 😅
Procedure
In a bowl;add chicken masala, mixed spice, honey, soy sauce, rosemary, salt and chilli flakes(chilli is optional) then finally the ginger garlic paste. Mix them well, ensure there are no spice balls floating on top.
Make small incisons on the chicken, this allows for the marinade to get into the chicken. Add the chicken to the marinade.
You can either cover it and let it marinate overnight in the fridge or if you’re making a quick meal, cover it and let it marinate in the fridge for 30 mins.
Marinade will look like this when properly mixed
When you add the chicken
I usually add the spring onions as a topping before putting the chicken in the oven
Oven instructions
I prefer preheating the oven whenever I’m using it. Temp 180° for 10 mins
After adding the chicken, I adjusted the temp to 220° and set the timer to 50 mins
After 20 mins turn the chicken, let it cook for another 20 mins then turn it again. The last 10 mins smear the remaining marinade on the chicken and let it cook for those 10 mins.
Rice recipe
The rice was a quick fix; I just boiled rice when it was almost ready, I added the spring onions and let it cook.
Btw do y’all wash your rice before cooking? Growing up, my mum insisted we should always washrice, I have maintained the trend haha. Lemme know what y’all prefer😊
Plated meal
‘Dine with me’ guest feedback
My first guest was my brother.
He dug in kabla I took a proper photo of his meal lol lowkey happy that he did that though, I want my guests to not feel pressured into taking photos before eating🤣 #raw image
” The meal was really filling, proper spice coordination, the kuku was well cooked.”
He however said the chilli was abit hot haha. In my defense I asked how hot he wanted it lol.
Disclaimer: I’ll always inquire if my guests want chilli or not. I got y’all 😊👌❤️ Chilli lovers and anti-chilli people.
That’s it for this week’s post. Comments and questions will be highly appreciated. I can send the recipe to anyone who would want any alterations on it.
I am Edith Wachira, a food enthusiast; I love cooking, trying out recipes both food and drinks recipes and i also enjoy eating out and sampling different restaurants and cuisines.
